Islamabad has applied for the international community's assistance, Pakistan 's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Inayatullah Kakar said at a news conference in Baku on Thusday.

"The Embassy of Pakistan is appeal ing to its Azerbaijani friends for material assistance ," the ambassador said. "The Baku branch of the Pakistan National Bank opened an account for those who want to help."

Flood damaged almost entire infrastructures of the country and due to the scale of the devastating flood, Pakistan couldn't overcome with its own forces, Inayatullah added.

He said the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are at the highest level and political cooperation is very prospective .

S everal top-level visits have been scheduled, but they depend on mutual agreements ," Inayatullah underlined. "Pakistan supports forever Azerbaijan and is side by side to Azerbaijani people ."

According to Inayatullah, the possibility of opening flights between Pakistan and Azerbajan are under discussions. "We are t aking our utmost to open a direct flight between our two countries ."
