Work on rebranding Azerbaijan's postal operator Azerpoct, will begin in the second half of 2013, the head of the national programme of the Swiss Cooperation Office for the South Caucasus Naila Safarova said on Tuesday.

According to her, the list of the most likely candidates who will work on the new image have now been prepared.

In February 2013, Azerpoct Ltd. announced an interest survey on attracting consulting services to create a new image. Consulting services are involved as part of the technical assistance of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland to the sum of $600,000. The grant is allocated within the framework of the World Bank's project 'Modernization of the financial sector of Azerbaijan'.

A requirement specification for the survey of interests was prepared after approval by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the World Bank

The consultant has to develop a marketing strategy for the postal operator, including the assessment of the demand for new financial products.

The main objective of the technical assistance is providing support in defining a new brand strategy of the operator as a part of the strategy on marketing and sales. In this context, it is planned to strengthen the capacity of Azerpoct Ltd. in the field of market research and planning, communications and media planning.

A rebranding campaign for Shirvan, which is selected a pilot area, is planned to be prepared and implemented within three months. Azerbaijan has seven post offices in Sirvan.

Shirvan city is located in the central part of Azerbaijan in 131 km from Baku.
