Azerbaijan and Colombia have good relations, Columbian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin told media after a meeting with her Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku on Monday.
"Today I have had a meeting with the Azerbaijani President," she said. "I conveyed the Colombian president's invitation to visit the country."
She stressed that the main objectives of her visit to Baku are to discuss the issues of strengthening the relations between the two countries, to determine the areas of cooperation, to attract the investors in the oil sector of Colombia and other issues.
Colombian Foreign Minister stressed her country's desire to become closer to Azerbaijan.
According to Holguin, an agreement was reached to hold a forum of businessmen from the two countries.
"Azerbaijan has the know-how in the field of energy," she said. "We believe that the cooperation in this area could be beneficial to both countries."
Holguin added that economics may become another interesting area of cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister also informed about Columbia's intention to cooperate with GUAM.
