Services based on the cloud infrastructure are expected to be launched in Azerbaijan in September, the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) told Trend on Thursday.

According to the report, a fast access to the services will be available through a portal, on the request to an individually configured server and data storage system located in Institute's data processing centre.

The cloud services (AzCloud, AzStorage and AzVirtual) will be available for structural departments of the National Academy of Sciences. Providing users with remote access to the services will be carried out directly through the network of AzScienceNet (azsciencenet.az).

The AzCloud and AzVirtual services will use the resources of the virtual machines, and in a short period of time will solve the problems that require more computing powers.

AzStorage service provides the end-users with the resources of the data storage system.

Currently, AzCloud service, built on the basis of IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) and IBM SmartCloud Provisioning, is available in a testing mode for a limited number of structural departments of ANAS.
