Azerbaijan issues over 20000 mobile e-signatures

The total number of certificates of Asan İmza mobile e-signatures issued by the Asan Certification Services Center in Azerbaijan has reached almost 20,400, the head of the Legal Department of Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes Samira Musayeva told Trend on Wednesday.

According to her, some 10,600 mobile e-signatures have been issued to legal entities, 9722 - to individuals and 60 mobile e-signatures accounted for public servants.

"Today the main goal is the maximum expansion of implementation scope of the Asan İmza and its integration with electronic services of public agencies, Musayeva said.

She went on to add that, consultations are being carried out at the moment, for owners of the mobile e-signature to be able to carry out purchases online and these consultations are being completed.

Connection of the banks and payment systems to the Asan Imza service will create a basis for the rapid development and distribution of the cashless payments.

It is planned to introduce a number of new e-services using the Asan İmza for financial sector, for example, to open an account, get a loan, make a payment and insurance purposes. And all these are carried out without visiting the bank, from a computer or mobile phone of the user.

Asan Certification Services Center, which is established by the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan, issues certificates for authentication and Mobile ID (Asan İmza) digital signature and also the services necessary for utilizing the certificates and giving legally binding digital signatures to governmental structures, private sector and citizens. On April 9, 2013 the Asan Certification Services Center certification authority has been accredited by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and can issue qualified certificates to state authorities, local self-government bodies, business entities and individuals.
