Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 13
By Huseyn Valiyev - Trend:

The Azerbaijani State Administration of Radio Frequencies will tighten control over the use of frequency resources, the administration told Trend on Friday.

The expansion of the centralized automated radio monitoring network will effectively combat the illegal use of frequency resources.

Currently, the total number of radio monitoring points is 14 units in Azerbaijan, nine of which are located in the regions.

The administration used two stationary units and one mobile equipment unit in late 2013. The stationary equipment was installed in the centralized automated radio monitoring network points in the Baku settlements of Mehdiabad and Yeni Guneshli.

The stationary equipment for the centralized automated radio monitoring network unit located in Sahil (Garadagh district of Baku), will be commissioned and integrated with the centralized automated radio monitoring network's control center in April. The U.S company TCI International will supply the equipment.

There are five points in Baku and the Absheron peninsula (Mehdiabad settlement of Absheron peninsula, Sahil settlement of Surakhani district of Baku, residential area "8th kilometer" in Nizami district of Baku and in Yasamal district of Baku).

"The control over the use of frequency resources in Baku is implemented on a triangle principle," the administration said. "Previously, it was possible to control frequencies up to three GHz. The new system allows to control and monitor frequencies up to 40 GHz centrally. As for frequencies up to eight GHz, there will be an opportunity to reveal the location of radio electronic resources. Additional funding is required for more complete coverage. The work will be continued as far as the funds are allocated."

Currently, work is underway to build the centralized automated radio monitoring network's new station in the Masalli region of Azerbaijan. Previously, the station was located in the building of the Masalli telecommunication node which was damaged by a gas leak explosion in early February 2011.

Creating a monitoring network will allow radio control over the ether, and the information base formation that reflects the technical parameters of the TV and radio broadcasting stations in the country. The project implementation will ensure the optimal choice of a site and transmitter parameters.
