TeliaSonera revenues in Azerbaijani market decrease

As of late 2013 the sales of TeliaSonera in Azerbaijani market fell by 2.8 percent compared with the previous year, according to the company's report on the results of last year.

The net sales for 2013 in Azerbaijan decreased by 2.8 percent compared to the previous year from 3,934 million Swedish krona to 3,824 million Swedish krona, according to TeliaSonera'a estimates.

Excluding acquisitions, net sales increased by one percent in local currency.

The company's earnings in Azerbaijan before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margin, which characterizes business profitability, rose from 49.9 percent a year earlier to 50 percent.

Fintur Holdings B. V, 58 percent of which is owned by TeliaSonera, has a stake in Azercell, a mobile network operator in Azerbaijan.

Azercell Telekom has the largest number of mobile subscribers in Azerbaijan at 4.4 million.

The exchange rate of Azerbaijani manat to the Swedish krona on Jan. 30 is 0.1212 AZN / 1 SEK, according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
