The operator of the Azerbaijan`s cable television - "B & BTV Communications" company is switching to DVB-T2 standard

The operator of the Azerbaijan`s cable television - B & BTV Communications company is switching to DVB-T2 standard.

The application of the new DVB-T2 standard is a promising innovation in the issue of transition to digital broadcasting standard. The second generation of digital terrestrial broadcasting system DVB-T2 can be used for fixed, mobile and other techniques, and its payload is 30-50 percent higher than the previous version of DVB-T in the same conditions.

The promising plans of "B & BTV Communications" includes transition to the signal of the second generation digital standard in Nakhchivan AR and Baku, the company noted.

The start of company's commercial package broadcasting in Nakhchivan is expected in early May. The introduction of DVB-T2 in Baku is expected before the end of the year.
The commercial package will consist of 70 channels in Nakhchivan, which will include also Nakhchivan TV local channel in the HD format

Today a social digital package is available for the population of the city of Nakhchivan, which includes all the republic-wide TV, Turkish TRT TV channel and two local TV channels ("Channel 35" and "Nakhchivan TV"). The aerial wire, through which the digital content is broadcast has been installed on the Duzdag TV and radio station.

The next phase of the project is the expansion of the digital social package in the territory of NAR envisages installation of stations in Sharur, Sadarak and the Ordubad regions.
The commercial broadcast packet will expand throughout NAR in the future and has considerable demand among the population of NAR today.
