It is expected to adopt the new standards in the field of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan in the near future, the director of the Standardization and Certification Institute of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Sabig Abdullayev said.
"The work on preparing new standards in the ICT sector are conducted by the Technical Committee on Information and Communication Technology created at the Ministry of Communications and High-Technologies and the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan," he said.
"The chairman of the Technical Committee on ICT is the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Valizade. The standards are adopted in accordance with the approved schedule of the State Committee. The Technical Committee's plans include adoption of standards in ICT for this year. The matter is mainly about the ISO/IEC standards," Abdullayev said.
At the end of last year, the State Committee approved the state standards in the ICT sector, including AZS ISO/IEC 14496-1-2013, AZS ETSI EN 302 296-2-2013, AZS 753-2013 and AZS 754-2013.
AZS ISO / IEC 14496-1-2013 standard is called "Information Technology and coding of audiovisual objects."
