AZERSUN HOLDING INTENDS TO PUT IMISHLI SUGAR PLANT INTO EXPLOITATION

The Azersun Holding intends to put the Imishli sugar plant into exploitation in late October, the Company told Trend. The Company is currently carrying out final works, particularly, installs different equipment.

The Company allotted 2,000 hectares sown under sugar beet to be used as raw material at testing of the plant. It plans to increase the figure up to 20,000 hectares in 2006 and assists farmers with devices and seeds in this regard.

The Azersun Holding has spent over $65m on construction of the plant, but the project rose in value due to changes in construction materials markets. It requests $10m more with $60m investment. The capacity of the plant will comprise 300m tons sugar per year. The Company plans to export part of production.
