To ensure the broadcast of the European Games beyond Europe, Baku 2015 European Games Operation Committee has signed another broadcast agreement, BEGOC said May 12.

The agreement was signed with Cuba's Instituto Cubano de Radio y Television (ICRT) TV channel.

This TV channel provides free broadcasting to 3.8 million homes in Cuba, and is the official broadcaster of the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Chief Operating Officer of Baku 2015 Simon Clegg said that this is the first agreement signed with a Latin American country.

The US, Canada, Arab countries, India, China and Australia will also broadcast the First European Games.

Roberto Gonzalez, the director general of Canal Tele Rebelde which is a part of ICRT, expressed confidence that Cuban people will enjoy this important sporting event.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
