In anticipation of the first European Games, Baku's roads acquired a more modern look.

The construction and beautification of the main roads selected for the movement of participants and visitors of European Games have been completed. Bridges and underpasses in Baku have been renovated and landscaped.

The installation of all necessary traffic signs, information boards, and road marking is being completed now. Identification of special lanes on the roads along the route that is selected for the movement of participants and visitors to the sports facilities also continues. A separate lane with a width of 3.75 meters will be allocated on this route on the roadway of streets and avenues of Baku.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
