The First European Games in Baku create great opportunities for the athletes in terms of their own development and preparation for other competitions, UK gymnast Frank Baines told Trend June 14.
The gymnast said he is glad to take part in the European Games in Baku.
He added that Azerbaijan has organized the First European Games at the highest level and said he is delighted with the conditions created in the Athletes Village.
The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku is a grandiose facility, according to the UK gymnast.
Moreover, Baines highly appreciated the professionalism of Azerbaijani athletes.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
