Italy's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Giampaolo Cutillo wasn't the only one enjoying the opening ceremony of the Baku 2015 European Games, as his family enjoyed it as well.
In particular, the ambassador's spouse, Elisabetta Cutillo, said that the opening ceremony of the First European Games in Baku was an elegant show and an incredible experience for many.
"There are many moments that I liked. I liked music, beautiful carpets, Gobustan graffiti," she told Trend, adding that everything was very romantic. "Every single part of this show was amazing."
"I was really surprised about the modernity of the technology," she said, adding that Azerbaijan is a very beautiful country.
"As an Italian, I have to be really grateful to all of you, because I know how you love us. Wherever I go, when I say that I am from Italy, people are so welcoming. I love Azerbaijan."
Furthermore, Cutillo said she loves Azerbaijani cuisine. "I love qutab, rice plov, I love your cheese, lula kebab."
The ambassador's spouse added that Italians and Azerbaijanis have many things in common.
"The common things between Azerbaijan and Italy: the sense of humor, the sense of history, the common value about family, friendship," she said. "We share love for music, we are both emotional people."
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
