Some 26,000 spectators are expected to attend the Baku 2015 European Games venues tomorrow, Simon Clegg, the Baku 2015 chief operating officer said at a press conference in Baku on June 26.

"We expect 26,000 spectators as we are moving to the final date of competitions," Clegg said.

He also said the attendance continues to be extremely high.

"We had a total of 23,010 spectators attending 14 sessions at different venues," he said, adding that the attendance was over 75 percent across all venues yesterday, June 25.

"Up to 29,000 spectators are to attend the European Games venues today," according to Clegg.

Clegg also noted that the Olympic Stadium is now ready for the closing ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, June 28.

The 15th day of the Baku 2015 kicked off on June 26.

Fencing, swimming, badminton, judo, boxing, BMX cycling, beach soccer, 3х3 basketball and volleyball events will be held today.

The athletes will compete for 23 medal sets: 2 sets in 3х3 basketball, five in boxing, three in fencing, six in judo and seven in swimming.

Azerbaijani athletes will take part in all the events to be held on June 26, except for badminton and volleyball.

Azerbaijan is currently wrapping up the inaugural European Games that are taking place in the country's capital of Baku. The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.

There are a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
