Number of appeals to Azerbaijani credit register ups by almost 40%

The centralised credit register service under the Central Bank of Azerbaijan received 284 945 appeals in July, 2014 the official website of the CBA reported.

Compared to the same period in 2013 (203 688 appeals), the number of appeals to the service has increased by 39, 9 percent.

The register received 275 740 inquiries from the banks in July (a 35, 7 percent increase for a year). About 9205 (an 18 times increase) customers applied to obtain their own credit reports.

As of late July, there were 2 164 493 borrowers having information in the credit registry. The total number of credit data made up 7 918 794. Of the total number of borrowers natural persons amount to 2 135 492, enterprise entities amount to 18 468, and legal entities make up 10 533. The highest increase is among the borrowers comprising of the natural persons - a 21, 9 percent increase. The data on enterprise entities increased by 16, 5 percent, and the legal entities growth made up 10, 4 percent.

The number of data on guarantors available in the registry was 1 011 787.

The centralised credit register service began operating since March 2005. At present, some 43 of 44 banks operating in the country, as well as 37 non-bank credit organizations are connected to the registry.

The tariff for a single query on an individual is 1.1 AZN, a legal entity - 2 AZN. Credit registry does not pursue commercial objectives. Tariffs were imposed to cover administrative costs.

The official exchange rate on Sept.5 is 0,7843 AZN/USD.
