The preferential loans worth 382,000 AZN were granted to 58 IDPs of Khankendi and Khojaly regions through the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development Sept.12, the ministry reported.

The allocated funds will be mainly focused on the development of animal husbandry, bee-keeping and other areas.The implementation of the projects through these funds contributes to creating about 60 new jobs.

The credit fair was held during a business forum as part of the "State program on improving living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and internally displaced persons" with the participation of about 100 IDPs in the settlement Ashagy Agjakend in Goranboy region.

The samples of investment projects were presented to establish enterprises on production of cheese, dried fruits, honey processing, beekeeping, poultry farming, small cattle breeding.It is considered appropriate to finance them through concessional loans.

It was stressed that the projects can be fully financed through the concessional loans at internally displaced people's desire.

The National Entrepreneurship Support Fund issued so far concessional loans worth 34 million AZN for 1,425 entrepreneurs among internally displaced people, National Entrepreneurship Support Fund executive director Shirzad Abdullayev said at the event.

The implementation of these projects contributed to opening about 3,000 new jobs.

Some 8.2 million AZN (including loans issued at the last forum) were issued for 225 entrepreneurs among internally displaced people within the recent months of 2014.

More than 400 new jobs are planned to be created due to the implementation of these projects.

"Recently some 23.9 million AZN of concessional loans have been issued for funding of 7 investment projects implemented by the IDPs with the use of new technologies," Abdullayev said.

The fund plans to issue loans worth 280 million AZN in 2014, of which 130 million AZN will be ensured at the expense of repayment, and the remaining 150 million AZN - at the expense of the state budget.

The National Entrepreneurship Support Fund was established in 1992. The loans are issued to entrepreneurs through authorized banks and non-bank credit organizations. Their total number is 45.

The official exchange rate for Sept.12 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
