The National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan (AEC) will open an office in Italy, the AEC President Mammad Musayev told reporters Oct. 9.
Musayev made the remarks at a press conference held as part of the Days of Italy in Azerbaijan.
During the conference an agreement was signed to open the AEC office in Italy.
Manuela Traldi, the President of the Italy-Azerbaijan Trade Institute (ITAZERCOM) will be the AEC official representative in Italy.
Musayev said Italy became the fourth country after Turkey, Germany and Ukraine, where the AEC opened its office.
"Italy is one of the main economic partners of Azerbaijan, and the trade turnover between the two countries last year was $6.2 billion," he said.
Musayev noted that Azerbaijan and Italy have so far signed about 20 documents in economy. Over 50 Italian companies are working in Azerbaijan in various spheres, and their number is increasing.
The AEC head said the main areas in cooperation are tourism, construction, textile industry, agriculture, processing, and transportation.
Traldi, for her part, said that as part of the Days of Italy, Baku will host on Oct. 10 a fair of industrial and cultural achievements of the city of Modena.
