Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL) CJSC will receive 10 new Boeing-737 passenger aircraft by 2018 for renewing its fleet, a source at the company told Trend on Nov.3.
The source said that by purchasing these airliners, AZAL will get opportunity to replace the Airbus airliners, especially, Airbus А319 aircraft which are currently operated by the company.
"An order for these airliners has already been placed. The aircraft will be received in 2018 in accordance with the schedule," the source added.
However, the source didn't provide detailed information about the schedule of receiving the aircraft.
Currently, AZAL's fleet consists of the following airliners: Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-300, three Airbus 319, seven Airbus A320, two Airbus A340-500, Embraer ERJ 170-100LR and Embraer ERJ 190-100.
