The SOCAR company (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has completed drilling a new well on Zig-Hovsan field block, which is being developed by Absheron Operating Company Limited, a senior representative of SOCAR told Trend June 2.
The source said that SOCAR will continue exploration and development of these fields.
Participants of the PSA contract for development of the block of Zig-Hovsan onshore fields are SOCAR (25 percent) and the Russneft Absheron Investments company (75 percent).
Zig-Hovsan fields are located in the southern part of the Absheron Peninsula. The Hovsan field was opened in 1948.
