The BP company intends to continue using the "Dede Gorgud" semi-submersible drilling unit on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of oil fields, a source on the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend Nov. 10.

The source said that the unit will return to the block in a few weeks.

"The overhaul of the unit has recently been completed," said the source. "BP intends to continue using it on the ACG just like it did before. In a short time the unit will be delivered to the block."

Caspian Drilling Company (92.44-percent share is owned by SOCAR) is the operator of the Dede Gorgud floating semi-submersible drilling rig.

BP in Azerbaijan is the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli offshore oil and gas field and Shah Deniz gas condensate field, and it plans to supply gas to Europe during the second stage of its development.

The company also participates in pipeline projects, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and South Caucasus gas pipeline.
