Iran is interested in Azerbaijan's proposal to use its infrastructure to transport energy resources, Azerbaijan's energy minister Natig Aliyev told reporters Nov.27.
He said that a similar initiative was launched by Azerbaijan at the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held in Tehran.
"Azerbaijan has a developed pipeline infrastructure," he said. "In addition to existing pipelines to Russia, Georgia, Turkey and Iran, the Southern Gas Corridor project is being implemented. All this infrastructure should be used effectively, and not only by Azerbaijan, but also other countries."
"We will hold negotiations, consider their proposals and possibilities of expanding our pipelines to transport Iranian energy resources," Aliyev further said.
Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Supsa, Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipelines and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, Azerbaijan-Georgia, Azerbaijan-Iran and Azerbaijan-Russia gas pipelines operate in Azerbaijan.
