Azerbaijan reduces foreign trade

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announced a decrease in the volume of foreign trade operations by 34.73 percent in January-November 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, the committee said Dec.21.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners for this period numbered 162 countries.

The total trade turnover of Azerbaijan hit $17.21 billion in January-November 2015, according to the report.

Black ink worth $2.4 billion was formed in foreign trade operations in January-November 2015.

Foreign trade surplus exceeded $12.6 billion in January-November 2014.

About 6,716 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign economic activities during this period, 3,473 being legal entities and 3,243 physical entities, according to the report.

Exports reached $10.6 billion in January-November 2015, which is 48.73 percent less compared to the same period of 2014.

The public sector share in export operations was estimated at $9.38 billion, the private sector share - over $1 billion and physical entities' share- $198.17 million.

Imports hit nearly $8.2 billion as of January-November 2015, which is 1.03 percent more compared to the same period of 2014.

The public sector share in import operations was estimated at over $1.42 billion, private sector share- nearly $6.5 billion and physical entities share - nearly $315.9 million.

At the same time, the volume of exports amounted to $854.3 million, while imports - $756.16 million in November 2015. As a result, a foreign trade surplus in the amount of $98.14 million was formed in November 2015.

About 2,391 kinds of goods were exported from Azerbaijan and 6,102 imported to Azerbaijan in January-November 2015.
