It is planned to launch a passenger train between Azerbaijan city of Nakhchivan and Iranian city of Mashhad.
This was announced at a meeting between Javid Gurbanov, head of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and Abbas Hajfathaliha, a member of the board of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, held in Nakhchivan, the Azerbaijani company told Trend March 3.
During the meeting, the sides discussed launching a passenger train on the Nakhchivan-Julfa-Tabriz-Tehran-Mashhad route, and finding sources for funding the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway.
