The law on avoidance of double taxation between Azerbaijan and Sweden is expected to come into force by late 2016, Chargé d’Affaires of Swedish Embassy in Azerbaijan Tomas Danestad said.
Danestad made the remarks at the opening of the third Electrolux store in Baku Nov. 22.
He stressed that the Swedish and Azerbaijani companies are actively cooperating.
Danestad added that the export of Azerbaijani energy resources – oil and gas – is a very important issue.
He added that however, there are also many other promising areas of economy in Azerbaijan.
In particular, Danestad said Azerbaijan has very high-quality agriculture products and the area has great potential.
He also said the fall in oil prices opens up opportunities for Azerbaijan to develop non-oil sectors of the economy and make the economy more efficient, which will help attract even more investors.
Danestad added that Azerbaijan has abundant resources and huge human potential.
