By Seba Aghayeva - Trend:

The parliamentary election will be held in Azerbaijan in accordance with the interests of people and the state, Elkhan Alasgarov, Ph.D., the head of the Baku Network expert council, said Oct. 27.

Alasgarov made this statement during a Moscow-Baku videoconference entitled "Azerbaijan on the eve of parliamentary election".

"If some upheavals occur in the world, the existence of a peaceful country nearby, which only wants stable development, may seem nonsense," he said. "In any case, the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is always held in the interest of people and the state. Everybody is aware of this in Azerbaijan and abroad."

"If any international organizations express a negative opinion about the election, in fact, this will mean nothing to Azerbaijanis," he said. "They are waiting for the next step in development following the election."

"There are other international organizations and observers from some countries, including the European ones, which are sending their missions to Azerbaijan," the expert said.

"Among them there are also observers from Israel, a member-country of the world community, friendly Russia, Turkey, Georgia and others," he said. "Their opinions are important for Azerbaijan."

"It is necessary to consider the role of the international organizations in the world," he said. "One must not take the one-sided declarations of a number of international organizations as a basis."

"Azerbaijan has close relations with many European countries, which are well aware of the country's role in the world and render assistance in key areas," he said. "Azerbaijan has good relations with the regional countries - Russia, Iran, Turkey."

"The parliamentary election-2015 has not been held in Azerbaijan yet," he said. "But someone has been already "assessing" the election. The information war is being waged against Azerbaijan."

"Azerbaijan proved to the world long ago that it can survive and realize its plans despite the information war," the expert said.

The parliamentary election will be held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1.
