Observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 29.

They will observe the parliamentary election to be held Nov. 1 in Azerbaijan, TurkPA said.

Serikzhan Kanayev, a member of the lower house (Mazhilis) of Kazakhstan's parliament heads the mission.

The observers' agenda includes meetings with Azerbaijani parliament's chairman, TurkPA chairman-in-office, Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov, and a number of officials of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

On Nov. 2, TurkPA observers will hold a press conference on the results of the election.

TurkPA's mission for observing presidential and parliamentary elections in the organization's member states began to work in 2010. Its observers have taken part in the 2010 parliamentary election and the 2013 presidential election in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary election Nov. 1. As many as 769 MP candidates have been registered take part in the election.

Earlier, Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission accredited 465 observers from 36 international structures for them to observe the Nov. 1 election.

Missions representing 53 countries will also be involved in the election observation.
