Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov.1

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend:

Transparent voting process has been ensured in Azerbaijan's ongoing parliamentary election, head of staff of the CIS observation mission Yevgeny Sloboda told Trend Nov.1.

The CIS observation mission determines the level of transparency in the voting process in accordance with the number of local observers visiting the polling stations, he added.

Sloboda said the voting process is going on in accordance with the Electoral Code, adding that no violation of law has been recorded.

"The polling stations opened on time and the voter turnout is high enough," he said, adding that the Central Election Commission is working in a normal mode.

The observer expressed hope that the election day will end as calmly as it began.

The parliamentary election is being held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1.

Some 503 international observers from 40 organizations and over 66,000 local observers monitor the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.

As many as 767 candidates claim for 125 seats in the Azerbaijani parliament.
