Turkish newspaper Hurriyet commentator Ertugrul Ozkok wrote about Eurovision-2012 song contest organized by Azerbaijan.

In his article, Ozkok said that Eurovision-2012 impressed him greatly.

"Well done Azerbaijan, this was a brilliant start!" he said. "So many years I was watching Eurovision song contest, so many years I worried. Rooting for Turkey, I did not pay attention to the halls, opening ceremonies. Then people began paying attention to the halls, creativity. They began to notice the differences between the countries not only in music but in organizing the event. Years passed. Europe's borders expanded. I have not seen such a beautiful opening ceremony of Eurovision song contest."

The author in his article, addressed to those who said that Europe's borders end where Turkey begins.

"Well done Azerbaijan! Wonderful show!" he wrote.

The Eurovision-2012 Song Contest took place at the Baku Crystal Hall, built on the shores of the Caspian Sea specifically for Eurovision 2012. The hall seats 23,000 spectators and another 16,000 spectators were able to watch the contest's semi-finals and final live on big screens.

The television audience of Eurovision 2012 hit 100 million people in 50 world countries.
The logo for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest was 'Fire Flower', while the motto was Light your fire.

Representatives of 42 countries participated in this 57th contest.

Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.

Sweden won the contest tonight in Baku, gaining 372 points for the song "Euphoria".
Russia's Buranovskie Babushki with song "Party for Everybody" took the second place with 259 points.

Serbia's Zeljko Joksimovic with song "Nije Ljubav Stvar" settled for third place with 214 points.
