Armenian armed forces have broken ceasefire with Azerbaijan 67 times in numerous positions in the last 48 hours, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on Dec.8.

Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire with Azerbaijan 46 times in numerous positions as of Dec.7.

On that day, Armenian armed forces located near the villages of Tapgaragoyunlu of Goranboy district, Merzili, Yusifjanli, Javahirli of Aghdam, Horadiz, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmadli of Fizuli district and at the nameless heights of Khojavend district, opened fire at the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces.

Moreover, Armenian armed forces broke ceasefire with Azerbaijan 21 times as of Dec.8.

Armenian armed forces, located near the villages of Tapgaragoyunlu of Goranboy district, Merzili, Yusifjanli, Javahirli of Aghdam, Kuropatkino of Khojavend, Horadiz, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmadli of Fizuli district and at the nameless heights of Khojavend district, opened fire at the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
