Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry released the footage showing the captured member of an Armenian sabotage group, where he admits that the sabotage group had an objective to attack the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ positions, and kill the soldiers there.

“I, Zaver Karapetyan, was born in the Dovekh village of the Noyemberyan district on Nov. 16, 1974. I am currently living in the Dovekh village of the Noyemberyan district,” the Armenian saboteur said in his testimony. “I am a villager. I am involved in combat duty for a fee. Taking advantage of adverse weather conditions, that is in the rain, fog and in the dark we moved towards military positions of the Azerbaijani army. Our goal was to attack the position where units of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces were stationed, and to kill the soldiers there.”

“Two people from our group were wounded, while other group members ran towards the Armenian positions, taking the wounded. I could not escape and decided to hide. Then I was captured by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan,” he added.

On the evening of June 20, a reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Armenian Armed Forces tried to cross the line of defense of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. As a result of the timely measures taken by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Armenian Armed Forces suffered losses and had to retreat, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry earlier said.
