В"The attention of the international donor organizations needs to be focused on the solution of the Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs problems. One of the important issues is coordination of the donor organizations’ activities and the government of Azerbaijan.

We must try these issues to be included in programs of donor organizations of the Council of Europe member states. Boris Chilevitch, a Latvian MP, the PACE rapporteur on refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, stated on 2 July (today) at the meeting with members of the Azerbaijan’s parliamentary delegation to PACE, Trend reports.

Chairman of the PACE sub-committee on refugees, deputy from Switzerland, Ruth-Gabi Vermoth-Mongolt and the committee’s member Rosmarie Zafpl-Helbling, as well as members of the sub-committee’s secretariat, also took part in the meeting.

The sub-committee’s chairman, Mrs. Vermoth-Mongolt reminded, that they attended yesterday, on 1 July, the camp village, where the refugees and the IDPs live and said, that the life conditions of those living in wagons are unbearable.

Along with this she noted, that building new settlements for refugees and the IDPs on the Azerbaijani government’s account is
praiseworthy and instills hopes for the future.

В"The major thing is that at the meeting of the PACE sub-commission on refugees and IDP’s to take place in Baku, the situation with the refugees and IDP’s would be assessed appropriately and correctly and the ways for solution the problem would be found.

The report, to be prepared at the sitting, must be directed at easing the refugees’ state”, Seyidov noted. He also noted the necessity to continue rendering aid from the part of the international humanitarian organizations until the problem is solved.

В"The government of Azerbaijan is interested in peaceful solution of the Upper Karabkh problem, and this issue may be solved by pulling out of the Armenian occupational forces from Azerbaijani territories. The sooner the issue is solved, the better for both parties”, Seyidov noted.

The delegation, headed by Mrs. Vermoth-Mongolt, has been also accepted by the Milli Mejlis (Parliament) chairman, Murtuz Aleskerov.
