688,957 cu m territory of Azerbaijan was cleared of mines in September 2005. 64 mines and unexploded ammunition (PHS) have been revealed and cleared for this period, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend .
22 mine-detecting dogs, 138 sappers, 15 PHS operators, 8 emergency doctors and around 100 employees are involved in operations.
The ANAMA have cleared 19,622,791 cu m territory in Azerbaijan since the start of activity.
According to the ANAMA report, since 2001 at the result of 64 such accidents, 42 persons died from mines and ammunitions and 73 got various injuries.
