The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has condemned the car bombing incident in the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the OIC said today.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has condemned the car bombing incident in the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the OIC said today.

Civilians were injured in this act of terror. Fatalities have been reported. Buildings belonging to state agencies were also damaged, the report said.

Ihsanoglu called on all political forces in Lebanon to sit down at the negotiating table and create a single government, which will represent the interests of all sides.

A massive explosion occurred in the Lebanese capital of Beirut this afternoon.

The explosion occurred in a car parked in the southern part of the city.

According to the preliminary information, the explosion killed and injured several people. The number of victims is not yet specified.
