The Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration has sent a second ship to assist a Russian cargo ship. A malfunction occurred in the engine of the Russian cargo ship in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea this morning, the administration told Trend on Nov.28.

Earlier, in order to help the Russian ship near Chilov Island, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan sent a rescue ship.

As the administration reported along with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a large vessel had been sent by the administration to aid the Russian ship into Baku and provide the necessary assistance to repair the engine problems.

"We can talk about the causes of the incident more accurately after the arrival of our ship once berthed," the administration stressed.
