An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale occurred in Izmir Province in southwestern Turkey, the Turkish "Anadolu" news agency reported.
The earthquake occurred at 06:58 local time on July 18, according Kandilli Observatory of the Bogazici University and the Earthquake Research Institute of Turkey.
The preliminary data reported no victims or destruction
The quake caused panic among the local population.
