Around 41 people drowned on the beaches of the Iranian sector of the Caspian Sea last Iran's calendar month (July 21-Aug. 20), spokesman for the Forensic Medicine Department of Mazandaran province Ali Abbasi said Aug. 27, the Iranian agency ISNA reported.
"The number of the people drowned has decreased by nine percent compared to the same period of last year," Abbasi added.
Abbasi said that around 61 people drowned - 59 males and two females - in the Iranian sector of the Caspian Sea during the past three months. He also stressed that 64 percent of the total number of the drowned accounted for 11-30 year old people.
