“Work on mine clearance of Kazakh region will start,” Abid Sharifov

“The work on clearance of the Saloglu village, Kazakh region, from the mines and the shells left from the former USSR will start from 1 December,” Abid Sharifov, the Vice-Premier, also the chairman of the State Commission on Force-Majors, said to journalists, Trend reports.

The work will be carried out at the initiative of the Azerbaijan National Agency on Mine Actions (ANAMA) under the support of the NATO.

Touching upon the situation on removing of the consequences of the explosion on 21 October, which caused the death of 3 people, Sharifov noted that the explosion also caused damage to social objects.

“The government sent contraction materials to the region on 22 October not waiting for the official report of the Commission on Determination of Damage,” the chairman of the State Commission said.

Sharifov stressed that some citizens required money compensation and appropriate compensation would be paid to them in early November.
