The Georgian Foreign Ministry last week held talks with the foreign ministries of Belgium and the Netherlands.

"These countries have once again proved their support for Georgia's territorial integrity and said they were not going to recognize independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Director of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Political Department, Zurab Kachkachishvili said at a traditional briefing on Sept. 21.

"The foreign ministries of both countries have assured us of support in dealing with those countries with which Georgia has no diplomatic relations," said Kachkachishvili.

He said political consultations are an effective tool for making coordinated decisions on many issues.

Among the most important events of last week, the Foreign Ministry spokesman also highlighted the 53rd IAEA conference in Vienna, which was also attended by the Georgian delegation.
