State minister: Over 34 world cities hold rallies

Rallies in support of Georgia in connection with the anniversary of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict took place in 34 world cities. Now they are held in Romania, State Minister for Diaspora Papuna Davitaia said at a special briefing today.

Rallies in support of Georgia in connection with the anniversary of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict took place in 34 world cities. Now they are held in Romania, State Minister for Diaspora Papuna Davitaia said at a special briefing today.

He said that actions were mainly held before the diplomatic missions of Russia.

"These actions are important because they stipulated that Georgia is still occupied and the Georgian people are protesting against this injustice and lawlessness that began many years ago, and continuing to this day. Georgian diaspora is gradually becoming the organized power, gathering friends. They are representatives of other countries," he said.

Minister of State said that besides the Georgians, local residents, as well as Ingush, Chechens, Azerbaijanis tok part in the actions.

"It was not only the Georgians' protest. This was a protest against the entire free world. It testifies that Georgia and the entire free world will never put up with what happened in Georgia," he said.

Papuna Davitaia thanked the organizers and participants of the protest on behalf of the state.
