Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received the delegation led by co-chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives' working group on Azerbaijan Bill Shuster, the Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
At the meeting the U.S. Congressmen expressed their satisfaction on US-Azerbaijan cooperation, underlined Azerbaijan's important role as an U.S. ally. Besides, they highly assessed Azerbaijan's contribution and support to the fight against international terrorism, the country's increasing role in global energy security, its participation in the security of regional and global stability.
The minister underlined the importance of dissemination of full and exact information about Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He mentioned the importance of settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the territorial integrity, withdrawal of occupation forces from the Azerbaijani lands for ensuring of peace, stability in the region, the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and return of IDPs to their homes.
The meeting also covered other regional and global issues.
