The Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) under the President of Azerbaijan held a conference on "The Future of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations" on Thursday.

Azerbaijan has always attached great importance to relations with Turkey, Deputy Director of the CSS Gulshan Pashayeva said.

"Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which is our closest ally and partner, have always developed rapidly, and Azerbaijan has always attached special importance to these relations," Pashayeva said.

As a result of joint concerted efforts of Turkey and Azerbaijan anti Turk law adopted by the Senate of France lost its relevance, Pashayeva stressed.

Deputy rector of Istanbul University Ahmad Javad said it is no coincidence that the activities on the 100th anniversary of the "Türk Ocaqları" society started in Baku.

"Representatives of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia played an important role in the formation of "Türk Ocaqları" society. Joint history of Azerbaijan and Turkey provides an excellent basis for future prospects," Javad said.

Javad noted that, Turkey, as well as Azerbaijan, is concerned with the performance of "Sarı Gelin" song in Armenian by the Turkish singer.

Azerbaijani MP Rabiyat Aslanova noted that similar history and language play a role of a bridge between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Today, both countries need to figure out what the real potential they possess.

Aslanova stressed the importance of unity, reminding the rally on Taksim Square in Turkey.
MP Ganira Pashayeva noted that there are some problems in providing information about Azerbaijan to Turkish public.

Pashayeva noted that in Azerbaijan majority watch Turkish television, but Azerbaijan media isn't sufficiently widespread in Turkey.

"More meaningful information about our country should be spread in Turkey," Pashayeva said.

The MP also believes it is important to focus on the Turkic history in textbooks of both countries.
