Based on the cooperation plan between Azerbaijan and the United States, a two-day seminar on the ties between the Defense Ministry and the parliament began today in Baku.
Head of the International Military Cooperation Department at the Defense Ministry, Major General Ramiz Najafov and Associate Director of the Marshall Center for International Liaison Janet Garvey opened the seminar, the ministry said on Wednesday.
The seminar participants are discussing mechanisms for implementing democratic control over the armed forces based on international experience. Representatives from Azerbaijan, Germany, the UK, Lithuania, Romania, and Bulgaria are attending.
