The 21th meeting of the CIS Coordination Council for Government Communications was held in Baku on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by delegations of encryption services and closed communications intelligence agencies of the CIS member states, the Center for Public Relations at the Ministry of National Security told Trend.

The event was opened by the Minister of National Security, lieutenant-general Eldar Mahmudov, who congratulated the participants on behalf of the Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, and noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in government communications.

The Minister expressed confidence over a concrete contribution of the CIS Coordination Council on Government Communications to the safe operation of encryption and government communications systems between states, private communications between departments, to the discussion of topical issues on development and improvement in the software, to provision of a higher level of cooperation in the field of international communication.

Discussions on the application of scientific and technological advances in encryption and government communication systems between states and private communications systems between departments, training of professional staff, and ways to increase and strengthen effective cooperation, exchange of information on mutual operations and other issues were discussed at the meeting.

A protocol on the agenda was signed, the action plan for next year was approved, the list of Coordination Council activities for 2013 was agreed as a result of the meeting.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the CIS Coordination Council for Government Communications in Uzbekistan in 2013.
