A trial will begin soon for former political figures of the Gaddafi regime, Al Jazeera TV channel quotes Libya's Justice Minister Salah al-Margani as saying.

According to al-Margani, Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and former head of Libyan intelligence Abdul Rahman al-Sanusi will face trial.

Al-Margani also said that the trial will begin within a month after the investigation finishes.

Previously it was reported that former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam will be handed over to the Hague Tribunal, but the Libyan government denied this report.

After the collapse of the Gaddafi regime in Libya, son of ex-leader Saif al-Islam was arrested on Nov.19, 2011 after fleeing to the south of the country.

Muammar Gaddafi was killed near his home town of Sirte.
