On Thursday, President of France François Hollande sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the Republic Day.
"I feel a sense of satisfaction due to the fact that I have the opportunity to wish happiness, progress and success to You and the people of Azerbaijan. Today, Azerbaijan has become an important player in the international arena in the areas of politics, economy, culture and sports. I wish the recognition of Azerbaijan in the international arena to continue in the future, and the ties of friendship and cooperation between our two countries to become even stronger. You can be sure that France will continue to actively fulfill its commitments to restore peace in the South Caucasus. Mr. President, you can be assured of great respect and deference to you," the letter says.
