Iran's elect-president Rohani appreciated people because taking part in voting and supporting moderate pass among candidate's slogans.

Iran's new president Hassad Rohani thanked the Iranian nation for taking part in the June 14 election.

In his first press conference, Rohani also thanked the the country' supreme leader Seyyed Ali Khameni.

Rohani assured the nation that he will not forget his electoral campaign promises, adding that his first priority is developing the country's economy.

He also said that he will follow a moderate policy.

Rohani further put emphasis on constructive interaction with the world.

The reformist candidate was elected as Iran's president with 50.7 of votes.

Economy

Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani has said that meeting urgent economic needs of the country, including the supply of staple foods will be the top priority of his administration.

In his first news conference after being elected as the new president, Rohani emphasized the need for taking advantage of all the existing facilities.

He also said that the liquidity growth should be curbed and be channeled into the production sector in order to reduce the inflation the jobless rates.

Regarding foreign policies, Rohani said that his administration will provide opportunities for interaction with other countries based on respecting mutual interests.

According to the International Monetary Fund, Iran's economy decreased by 1.9 percent in 2012. The value of the country's currency, the rial, also decreased by 40 percent in 2012. According to the Iranian Central Bank, the country's inflation was above 30 percent in the previous year.

Sanctions against Iran brutal

Iran's new president Hassan Rohani said that the sanctions against Iran are brutal.

The Iranian nation has done nothing wrong and Iran's nuclear programis in line with international laws, Rohani said during his press conference.

He further said that the West is also losing in this issue and the only party benefiting from the sanction is Israel.

Iran will take two major steps to solve the sanctions problems, he added.

Tehran will provide a transparent view regarding Iran's nuclear program, Rohani explained.

He also said that his government will boost mutual trust between Iran and other countries.

Good relations with Saudi Arabia

Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani has said that Iran will continue good relations with Saudi Arabia.

Rohani said that first security agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia was signed in 1998 when he had served as the secretary of Iran National Security Council.

He added that two nations have common interests and should enhance bilateral relations.

He also said that Syrian people in collaboration with all other countries should decide about their destiny.

I will materialize all the promises I gave during presidential campaigns. I also promise to put an end to all immoralities and offenses, Rohani said.

According to Rohani, Syria crisis should be solved by Syrian people's decision. We oppose against terrorism and foreigners medding in Syria, Rohani added.
