Mass protest rallies have started in Egypt in support of President Mohammed Morsi, Al Jazeera Channel reports.

According to the channel, the supporters of Morsi, who was ousted in a military coup, took to the streets of Cairo following Friday prayers.

Today, the Egyptian army stated that citizens have the right for peaceful protests and the army is not going to oppose them.

After the military ouster of Egyptian President, thousands took to the streets in support of Mohammed Morsi. Earlier, Egypt's Muslim scholars have expressed their support for the president.

On July 2, following the expiration of an ultimatum put forward by the army to the government of Egypt, the country's army ousted the president in a military coup and seized power in the country.

According to Al Jazeera, Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood are accused of violation of the constitution.
