Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 July / Trend, I. Izzet /

A police action plan has been developed for the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan.

"There will be no employee not engaged in this work. Measures are being taken to encourage police to stick to strict guidelines," the Deputy Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Orudzh Zalov said on Tuesday during a specialized course on electoral law for the chairmen of district election commissions at the Central Election Commission.

Azerbaijan is the most stable and peaceful country in the CIS and Middle East. According to this indicator, in terms of the number of crimes per 100,000 people, Azerbaijan has the most favorable situation: 232 crimes are registered for every 100,000 people in the country, the deputy minister said.

According to Zalov, while speaking on "The role and activities of the Interior Ministry in the electoral process," despite an increase in population by two million people, the number of crimes has decrease by a hundred compared to previous years.

"This is not the result of increasing the number of law enforcement agencies, but the outcome Heydar Aliyev's work on requirements and tasks of law enforcement," the deputy minister said.

According to him, fruitful results of the Interior Ministry's activities, carried out in conjunction with its local authorities and other law enforcement agencies, is that the people can live and work in the country in absolute peace. There were no major crimes or terrorist acts observed in the country.

A number of crimes were suppressed and revealed, and their perpetrators were exposed and brought to justice thanks to preventive works.
"Today, the police are bravely and professionally safeguarding stability. Today, visitors to Baku can relax after nine o'clock in the evening until midnight without protection or fear; if protection of their rights is provided, if there are no incidents of concern, we have achieved the results we want. We should be proud of the fact that tens of thousands of foreign visitors and tourists can relax in Baku and the regions without any disturbance. This peace has been achieved through joint law enforcement efforts, " Zalov said.
