The Fifth World Congress of news agencies will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2016, the Secretary General of Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Farid Ayar said in Riyadh on Nov.20.
The capital of Saudi Arabia is hosting the Fourth World Congress of news agencies. Attending are more than 70 news agencies from around the world, 30 representatives of specialised media and information technology and communications specialists. Trend Agency has also been invited to the congress.
The first World Congress of news agencies was held in Moscow in 2004. The idea of the forum belongs to ITAR-TASS.
The second congress was held in the Spanish city of Estepona in 2007, the third in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2010.
